Social Media:
How to Elevate Your Career

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

6:00 - 7:30 PM

On November 5th, the Northeast Women in Public Finance will host Karin Zabel of Hearsay Social to discuss how to effectively use Social Media to Elevate Your Career. The event is free for both members and non-members - everyone is welcome to attend!

Social media awareness is about more than posting Facebook and Instagram photos from your last vacation or a Saturday night out.  Learning to effectively manage how you are presented to the business community through social media can pay off dividends during job searches, promotion opportunities, and building (and maintaining) your professional reputation.  NEWPF is hosting Karin Zabel of Hearsay Social to discuss how professionals succeed and at times fail in managing their online track record.

Ms. Zabel helps financial firms of all sizes develop a social media plan and policy.  She will share what she has learned through helping financial industry leaders use social media effectively.

Men are welcome to join this lively conversation hosted by the NEWPF!

Location:

Moody’s Investors Service
7 World Trade Center
at 250 Greenwich Street
20th Floor

Speaker:

Karin Zabel, Director of Customer Success, East – Hearsay Social

Karin recently moved to New York City from San Francisco to build a Customer Success team in the Hearsay Social NYC office focused on their top financial services clients. At Hearsay Social, a fast-growing, NEA and Sequoia-backed startup, Karin leads a team of top account managers who coach, train and lead Fortune 500 financial services and insurance companies in how to sell socially through their proprietary enterprise software.

Prior to her work with Hearsay Social, Karin was a Senior Manager and Social Media Consultant at Projectline Services, a marketing agency and preferred Microsoft Partner based in Seattle. In her four years at Projectline, she led dozens of large customer reference programs for high-tech companies including for Microsoft, Dell, Intel and Avanade. She specialized in telling customer stories through digital marketing, social media platforms, customer videos and written case studies. As a result, Karin’s case studies are the most searched pieces on www.microsoft.com today. While striving to be a marketing guru by day, Karin was the President of the Seattle chapter of BEAN, a young professionals group with over 10,000 members worldwide. Karin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Portland, was an Entrepreneur Scholar in 2003-04 and is a certified Project Manager from CompTIA.

She’s not all work though, in her free time, she runs in races all over the country, makes her own mustard, spends time with her new nephew, and travels the world.
